It’s got great ideas, but just didn’t quite make it. And like I said in my last article on it, that extends to the music too. It’s a very clunky, experimental game, that laid a lot of groundwork, but absolutely didn’t stick the landing most of the time. Sonic 1 isn’t very well remembered, besides Green Hill Zone, anyway.
